Summary This survey investigated men and women who graduated from four-year universities and junior colleges in March 2000. They were the first graduates who searched their job under the Equal Employment Opportunity Law amended in April 1999.
The aim of this survey is to reveal the condition of activities to obtain secure employment at their graduation as well as some changes of the employment consciousness in the time (October, 2000) of having passed half a year since their graduation, for the purpose of reserving the equal opportunity about employment of female students and supporting for adequate occupation selection for them.

Sample Size A sample of 11,065 (women from four-year universities: 6,563, men from four-year universities: 3,282, women from junior colleges: 1,220), of whom 2,237 (women from four-year universities: 1,648, men from four-year universities: 371, women from junior colleges: 218) returned valid responses.
