Summary This survey was conducted on RENGO constituent organizations, for the purpose of (1) ascertaining the state of hiring overall and supporting labor-management consultation based on objective data and (2) providing a reference for hiring issues likely to be taken up in the Diet (employment policies for lowering unemployment; policies to strengthen the employment safety net, including non-regular workers), amid rapidly worsening unemployment, against a backdrop of the global financial crisis, starting with the US subprime loan problem.

Furthermore, the “RENGO: Fact-finding Survey on Emergency Recruitment” was conducted on regional RENGO branches nationwide and ascertained the number of consultations on employment problems and the details.
