Summary
|
This survey was conducted to analyze never-married men’s and women’s attitudes toward marriage, as well as their values and living environment, based on objective data.
In recent years, the unmarried rate and the lifetime unmarried rate for both men and women in Japan have risen sharply, necessitating objective data on this trend. Hence, this survey targeted never-married men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 to provide basic data on never-marrieds living environment, as well as their attitudes toward marriage and related values. In particular, to perform an in-depth analysis of the respondents’ attitudes toward work and marriage, a variety of question items were prepared, and the employed sample was larger than that for unemployed persons and home workers.
