Summary
|
Changes in lifestyle attitudes and behaviors under the influence of novel coronavirus infection were investigated. The first survey (1360) was conducted from May to June 2020, the second survey (1389) from December 2020, and the third survey (1428) from April to May 2021.

Non-probability: Quota
Allocation was made by region (7 categories) according to the population ratio. Moreover, the exact number of respondents was equally allocated by gender and age group (every 10 years, 6 categories) in each region.
Regional classification: Hokkaido/Tohoku, Tokyo, metropolitan area (excluding Tokyo), Chubu, Kinki, Chugoku/Shikoku, Kyushu/Okinawa.

Students: school stage and grade, prefecture of school
Employed: industry, occupation type, prefecture of office, commuting time, size of company
Married couple: Spouse's employment status
Persons with children under 18 years old: age, school stage, and grade of school of their children
(2) Changes in consciousness toward work style before and after the spread of the new coronavirus infection
Respondents' preference for work or life, changes in choice of occupation and their preference, reasons for the change, reasons for choosing the company in which they changed jobs
(3) Changes in work style before and after the spread of the new coronavirus infection
Current working style (frequency of telework, etc.), business improvement for telework, inconveniences of telework, frequency of telework use in the future, implementation status of side jobs, actions toward side jobs, reasons for not having side jobs, permissibility of and reasons for side jobs under the system at the workplace, implementation status/contents/efforts of recurrent education, reasons/obstacles of receiving recurrent education, changes in current working hours/work productivity/commuting time compared to before the spread of infectious disease
(4) Changes in consciousness toward housework, childcare, and family before and after the spread of the new coronavirus infection
Change in spouse's work style, change in time spent with family, desire to continue to spend time with family, current time spent on household chores/child care compared to before the spread of infection, change in interest in marriage
(5) Current consciousness toward rural migration
Current interest in rural migration, specific actions toward rural migration, high interest in rural migration and reasons for migration, reasons for not implementing rural migration
(6) Changes in consciousness toward education and learning before and after the spread of the new coronavirus infection (students)
Change in willingness to study, change in desire to work in the Tokyo area
(7) Changes in satisfaction before and after the spread of the new coronavirus infection
Satisfaction (overall life, health, work, ease of raising children, connection with society, enjoyment/interest in life), new challenges under the influence of infection, increased anxiety compared to before the spread of infection
(8) Perception of support measures
Awareness of job seekers support training and higher vocational training promotion benefits, conformity to payment requirements, intention to use such benefits, whether or not they have experienced absence from work due to infectious disease, whether or not they have lost salary or received compensation (absence allowance) from companies for absence from work, whether or not they have used the support and benefits system for absence from work in response to new-type coronavirus infection
