Summary
|
In Japan, there are still very few LGBTQ (an acronym for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning) and other sexual minorities (hereafter referred to as LGBTQ) who come out at work or in society, so it is difficult to understand what difficulties they face and what their needs are. There are also very few surveys conducted by the government.
The purpose of this survey is to accumulate data in Japan to promote the creation of workplaces and societies that are easy for sexual minorities to work in and live in while also taking into account overall diversity measures to confirm the effectiveness of LGBTQ measures taken by companies and governments in recent years, and to confirm the impact of the spread of the new coronavirus on LGBTQ people. Another aim is to make it possible to conduct secondary analysis for academic purposes by releasing data with personal information removed (this will reduce the burden on respondents of repeatedly taking similar surveys and will also allow the results of this survey to be widely shared with society).

We made people aware of the survey and recruited respondents through our website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, lectures, poster displays at the Pride Center Osaka, and by asking for cooperation in our email newsletter to existing Nijiiro Diversity clients.
