Major Survey Items Given that this was an omnibus survey comprising the Central Research Services' monthly survey, it included the usual set of variables, namely support for a political party and support for Cabinet, and economic variables such as changes in living conditions and like and dislike of foreign countries. The researcher prepared the survey items considering the predicted ratio of ruling and opposition parties, voting parties in the House of Representatives, and the House of Councilors (previous election), as well as opinions about the consumption tax and socialism, party image, political trust, and people’s daily living conditions.
