Summary As people's needs diversified, life insurance shifted its emphasis from products primarily designed to secure a family life to those intended for different individuals. Now we need to cover not only households but individuals in our research. This survey is the first of a series of surveys to be conducted to study the latter. Specifically, it analyzes the consciousness and reality of insurance among male and female individuals in the three dimensions of medicine, old age, and death, and grasps their current state of and feelings about security preparation in each dimension. At the same time, the survey investigates and analyzes their use of means of security preparation including life insurance.
