Summary The general objectives of this survey is to obtain basic data on the current economic life of university students and their consciousness and behavior as consumers to facilitate further advancement of the movement of University Cooperatives, and to identify problems surrounding their campus life. The 29th survey, a part of a series which began in 1963, has seen about 40,000 participants from the nation's 95 Cooperatives affiliated with the Federation. For time-series analysis, the Federation offers annual "national aggregation" reports which tabulate results from selected numbers of universities day-time students attend.
Universe A total of 21,244 students were sampled from the 95 Cooperatives nationwide (rate of return: 60.2%), and, for national aggregation, a total of 13,999 students who attend pre-selected 31 universities were chosen out of the day-time student cohorts of the original sample.
