Summary
|
Shorter working hours are a must in order to bring affluence and comfort to the Japanese worker's life. Specifically, a 40-hour week system must be practiced to bring the total number of working hours per year to 1,800. This survey was conducted to obtain basic data for promoting shorter working hours by comparing West German workers, who are accustomed to a 5-day week and long vacation, and Japanese counterparts, who are not.
