Summary Given the declining birthrate and the aging population, it is necessary for companies to make better use of female workers. Against this backdrop, this survey was conducted with the aim of understanding the use and promotion of female workers at companies and to look at realities facing female managers and female executive officers as the index.

(3) Status of female managers
Percentage of women in equivalent of sub-section head (kakaricho)/chief positions, ratio of women in equivalent of section head (kacho) positions, ratio of women in equivalent of department head (bucho) positions, increase/decrease in the ratio of female workers in managerial positions (comparison with 5 years ago and 5 years later), status of setting numerical targets for increasing the ratio of female workers in managerial positions, reasons for a lack of increase in the number of female workers in managerial positions.

(5) Mentoring system
Presence/absence of a mentoring system for training workers to hold managerial positions, month and year of system’s introduction, number of registered mentors, people who become mentors, people who become mentees, process for matching mentors and mentees

Existence of female executive officers, ratio of female executive officers, female executive officers’ careers, etc., reasons for being selected as executive officers, etc.
