| Summary |
This survey, “The Questionnaire Survey on Work and Life of Workers,” aims to clarify economic, employment, and living trends as seen from the perspective of workers and to obtain basic information with which to consider policy issues from the perspective of improving employment and quality of life. This is done by periodically exploring workers’ attitudes toward economic trends in Japan and their current state of work and living. In the ten years since the survey began, the socioeconomic environment and employment environment have changed. In particular, IT has been incorporated further into various areas, and attitudes to work and life have diversified. The researchers for this survey are considering switching to an online survey using web monitors from the 21st survey, with the aims of designing surveys that can respond to this kind of diversity and extracting topics promptly through rapid collation and analysis. Nevertheless, the fact is that there is still much scope for discussion about the reliability of social surveys through the Internet. Given these circumstances, this survey was conducted on access panels registered with the same survey company, with the survey period, target groups, and sample size being under as close to identical conditions as possible to compare and verify the mail access panel survey and web access panel survey using the same question items. |

Internet-based access panel survey: Allocated so that the composition ratio is the same as the population distribution composition in the “2007 (Heisei 19) Employment Status Survey (by area of residence, gender, age group, and employment status). Web survey access panel registered with a survey company (2,220 people) were requested to respond to the questionnaire. Mail access panel survey: Allocated by the same method as the web access panel survey, and questionnaires were distributed to mail survey access panel registered with a survey company (900 people). |
