Summary The purpose of this survey was to understand the actual state of scholarship programs implemented by schools, local public organizations, private organizations, and individuals to contribute to the future development of scholarship projects in Japan.                  

The main survey items are as follows:
(1) Respondents’ basic personality
(2) Regarding the scholarship system
(3) Target range/selection criteria
(4) Lump-sum payment for admission, etc.
(5) Repayment exemption system
(6) Achievements
Data Type quantitative research: micro data
Universe Organizations, etc. that provide or lend educational funds for students enrolled in universities/graduate schools (including the Open University of Japan), junior colleges, colleges of technology, high schools (including the second half of secondary schools) for attending vocational schools and miscellaneous schools, etc.

However, the following organizations were excluded from the survey: (1) school tuition reduction and exemption projects, (2) projects implemented only for foreign students, (3) projects for Japanese students studying abroad (travel expenses, study-abroad living expenses, local tuition fees (4) Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), (5) projects directly managed by the national government for a specific purpose, and (6) projects managed by local governments with the assistance of the national government.
