Summary
|
This survey was conducted by the "Study Group on the Development of Helper Skills and Personnel Management" of the Department of Research on the Staffing Industry, the Institute of Social Science, the University of Tokyo, with the cooperation of Kamaishi City.
Given the introduction of the long-term care insurance system, the demands on home-visit care services have expanded, and there is a growing need to improve the management system and quality of these services and secure a sufficient number of care workers to meet the demand in light of this field’s serious human resources shortage, especially regarding home care workers. Responding to the quantitative expansion and qualitative sophistication of needs and securing, retaining, and fostering sufficient human resources have become urgent issues in the nursing care business.
In light of this situation, this survey focuses on qualitatively upgrading nursing care services. Specifically, the survey targets elderly people who use home care services and includes detailed survey items regarding their opinions of care staff and the services provided. Through these survey items, this study aims to clarify the actual situation of nursing care services from users' point of view and obtain basic data for improving the quality of home care services in the future.
