Summary Research theme: To explore the effects of parents’ "inappropriate treatment of children" (abusive tendencies) on children's mindset and future prospects.

Survey perspective: Although we avoided using the word "abuse," within the framework of the four types of abuse, excluding sexual abuse, the questionnaire asked junior high school students to recall their experiences at elementary school age and earlier so that researchers could ascertain the extent to which the children’s parents exposed them to "physical violence, neglect, and psychological violence."
