Summary
|
The number of children who do not attend or dislike school is increasing significantly, according to the results of the Ministry of Education's Basic Survey on Schools (1998/8). Specifically, an increasing number of children fear their peers or feel stressed or oppressed when they are in a group setting.
In modern times, it is said that more and more children experience anxiety regarding interpersonal relationships and that friendships have weakened, but what is the reality for children? It is extremely important for children to experience interpersonal relationships characterized by trust and love as a basis for their ability to form strong relationships in adulthood. What are the necessary conditions to make childhood experiences of human relationships more satisfactory? This survey attempted to answer that question.
The purpose of the survey was to learn more about children's friendships by focusing on the peer groups where children’s play occurs at school.
