Summary Classes, homeroom teachers, blackboards, desks, textbooks, and school events have all existed since the Meiji era and are still present in today's schools. While families and communities have made dramatic progress, schools have retained many of the Meiji era features. Can it be said, then, that schools are suffering from institutional fatigue? In this survey, we aimed to examine the value and significance of "school" through children’s eyes.
