Summary
|
The family is important for everyone, but given children’s small radius of movement, the familial environment is particularly important because it is the sphere in which children are protected and educated as they take their first developmental steps.
This survey was conducted among elementary school children in Tokyo to determine what family means to them.
The survey explores the time children spend at home, their perceptions of their family, whether they are comfortable at home and school, and how their parents' work and time at home affect their feelings about their family and their self-image.
