Summary It is said that the era of women's vitality has arrived. Indeed, a gender-equal society has been advocated in the world at large, and in recent years, various efforts have been made to address gender issues in schools. Elementary school children’s awareness of and behavior regarding gender roles has changed considerably compared to the past, and there seems to be a decreasing tendency for girls to be relegated to playing a supporting role for boys. However, are girls really that energetic? This survey focuses on gendered differences in thinking and awareness and explores the actual state of girls who are said to live with vigor.
